Introduction: Professor Zhigang Tu (Senior Member, IEEE) received his Ph.D. degree from Wuhan University, China, in 2013, and a second Ph.D. degree from Utrecht University, the Netherlands, in 2015. He conducted postdoctoral research at Arizona State University, USA, from 2015 to 2016, and was a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from 2016 to 2018.

He is currently a Professor at Wuhan University. He has published more than 100 academic papers in international SCI-indexed journals and conferences. His research interests include computer vision, image processing, and video analysis, with a particular focus on the recognition, reconstruction, and generation of human behaviors (e.g., pose, action, and activity).

He served as an Area Chair for the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) from 2023 to 2025. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology (IF = 7.3), Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, and The Visual Computer. He received the Best Student Paper Award at the 4th Asian Conference on Artificial Intelligence Technology and was recognized as one of the Top 3 Outstanding Reviewers of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology in 2022.
