Call for Papers-SI on SAICIA

Special Issue on Securing Artificial Intelligence for Critical Infrastructure Applications

Aims and Scope

This Special Issue will focus on the security, robustness, and trustworthiness of AI models proposed for or deployed in critical infrastructure environments. It will seek rigorous contributions examining model-level vulnerabilities, adversarial manipulation, data poisoning, model extraction, and other risks that may undermine the safe and reliable use of AI across essential sectors such as energy, water, transportation, and telecommunications.

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into critical infrastructure is transforming operational capabilities in sectors vital to national security and public safety, such as utilities, transportation, and communications. As these systems become smarter and more autonomous, the implications of AI vulnerabilities become more severe, potentially leading to disruptions that could affect millions of lives and cause significant economic impact. Ensuring the security of these AI systems is paramount, as the sophistication of cyber threats continues to evolve rapidly.  This SI aims to explore the intersection of AI and security within critical infrastructure sectors such as energy, water supply, transportation, and telecommunications. The rapid integration of AI technologies in these essential domains presents unique vulnerabilities and requires robust security measures. This SI will solicit original research papers and reviews on advanced methods and technologies to enhance the resilience and security of AI systems in critical infrastructure against a range of threats, including cyber-attacks, physical attacks, and manipulation.
