About STM

STM serves as the vanguard for the academic publishing industry, collaborating with its members to promote trusted research on a global scale. Committed to ensuring that groundbreaking discoveries are communicated with unwavering accuracy, clarity, and integrity, STM champions innovation in academic research while stimulating the development of new technologies and universal standards. With over 140 members worldwide, including major commercial publishers, learned societies, and university presses, STM plays a crucial role in shaping the future of scholarly publishing.

 

STM Aims and Objectives

-to assist publishers and their authors in their activities in disseminating the results of research in the fields of science, technology, and medicine;

-to assist national and international organizations and communications industries in the electronic environment, who are concerned with improving the dissemination, storage, and retrieval of scientific, technical, and medical information;

-to carry out the foregoing work of the Association in conjunction with the International Publishers Association (IPA) and with the national publishers associations and other governmental and professional bodies, international and national, who may be concerned with these tasks.

 

As members of STM, we will actively contribute to initiatives including advancing open science, ethical publishing standards, and diversity in research outputs.
