Call for Papers – SI on DCAIAMA
Special Issue on Data-Centric AI Agents: Mechanisms and Applications
Aims and Scope
The rapid evolution of large language models and multimodal foundation models is driving a new generation of AI agents capable of reasoning, planning, using tools, and collaborating to accomplish complex tasks. As these agents move into data-rich and dynamic environments, their effectiveness increasingly depends on reliable data acquisition, knowledge integration, memory management, and coordinated decision-making. Meanwhile, significant challenges remain in autonomy, long-horizon reasoning, resource efficiency, robustness, privacy, and accountability.
This special issue aims to advance the foundations, architectures, and applications of data-centric AI agents and multi-agent intelligent systems. These contributions should address agent learning and reasoning, knowledge-grounded decision-making, multi-agent collaboration, distributed and embodied intelligence, trustworthy operations, and systematic evaluation. Particular emphasis is placed on approaches that integrate advances in data science with intelligent system design and demonstrate measurable improvements in reliability, efficiency, adaptability, or practical utility.
By bringing together researchers from artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, and distributed systems, this special issue seeks to identify emerging methodologies, practical solutions, and future research directions for next-generation agentic intelligence.

Special Issue Information
We invite authors to submit substantially extended versions of papers originally presented at the 9th International Conference on Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Trustworthy Systems (BlockSys 2027) and subsequently published in its official conference proceedings, addressing topics including, but not limited to, the following areas:
·Planning, reasoning, and self-correction in autonomous agents
·Tool use and reliable execution of agent workflows
·Multi-agent communication, negotiation, debate, and consensus formation
·Learning and adaptation in open, dynamic environments
·Agent orchestration and distributed intelligent system architectures
·Edge intelligence and resource-efficient deployment of agents
·Multimodal perception and embodied interaction for agents
·Safety, robustness, and adversarial security of AI agents
·Privacy-preserving and explainable agent decision-making methods
·Evaluation benchmarks, datasets, and reproducibility for agents
·Human-agent collaboration, oversight, and personalized intelligent services
·Data provenance, governance, and accountability in agent ecosystems
·Domain-specific agent applications in healthcare, science, and industry
Submissions must demonstrate significant additional research contributions beyond the original conference papers.
Authors submitting extended versions of conference papers are required to:
·Properly cite the original conference paper in the manuscript's reference list and acknowledge it in the Acknowledgements section.
·Any tables and figures that are reused need to have appropriate permissions cleared. Please seek permission for the reuse of tables and figures from Springer and upload the permission files when submitting your extended version to our journal.
Submission deadline: 31 July, 2027
Submissions that pass the initial screening will be reviewed by at least two reviewers in the relevant field. All submissions, including extended versions of conference papers, will undergo the journal's standard editorial assessment and independent peer-review process.
Acceptance for publication in the BlockSys 2027 conference proceedings does not guarantee acceptance for publication in JDSIS.
