About the Journal

The Ocean Observation Technologies and Engineering (OOTE) is an international, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the development of advanced ocean observation technologies and engineering approaches for observing, understanding, and exploring the ocean. 

The journal welcomes original research articles and comprehensive reviews covering ocean observation across a broad range of spatial and temporal scales, from the air–sea interface and coastal ocean to the open ocean, deep sea, and seafloor, and from individual observation technologies and platforms to regional, global, and distributed observing systems.

OOTE is a Gold Open Access journal, online readers don't have to pay any fees. 

The journal is currently free to the authors, and all Article Processing Charges (APCs) are waived until 31 December 2026.
